The Early Cancer Institute recognises the benefit of academic collaboration and welcomes visitors at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as visiting professors. If you are interested in obtaining visitor status in the Early Cancer Institute please make direct contact with the research group you wish to collaborate with to enquire if they are willing to support your visitor application.
Visiting students
Once you have the consent from one of our research groups that they are willing to host you, you will need to obtain a signed Visiting Student Agreement. In order to produce this we need:
1. A letter from your home institution confirming that:
- You are a registered student
- Your home institution approves your visit
2. Your home institution transcripts
3. A copy of your CV
4. Confirmation that you have secured funding to cover your living costs in the UK (please specify amount). Please note that visitors are not paid by the University of Cambridge.
5. A full colour scan of the details page of your passport
Please allow at least four weeks’ notice to obtain a signed Visiting Student Agreement.
Further information for visiting students
Other visitors
If you are visiting as a postdoctoral researcher, visiting professor or in another non-student capacity you will need a signed Visitor Agreement. In order to produce this we need:
1. Your visitor status (Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow; Honorary Visiting Fellow; Visiting Researcher)
2. A letter from your employer or home institution confirming your visitor status and that your visit is approved
3. A copy of your CV
4. Confirmation that you have secured funding to cover your living costs in the UK (please specify amount). Please note that visitors are not paid by the University of Cambridge.
5. A full colour scan of the details page of your passport.
Please allow at least four weeks’ notice to obtain a signed Visitor Agreement.
International students requiring a VISA
Visitors from outside the UK and Ireland will require the correct visa. The University of Cambridge can provide a certificate of sponsorship to assist with visa applications. Visitors requiring visas should give at least 10 weeks’ notice of their visit, longer if possible.
