Inside the new institute looking at early cancer

The Early Cancer Institute at Cambridge launched in 2022. Our mission is deceptively simple: to detect cancer early enough to cure it.

The Early Cancer Institute is focused on understanding the earliest steps of cancer formation. Our multidisciplinary and collaborative groups are working together on innovative, world-leading research to pave the way for new clinical strategies to detect and prevent cancer.
