On Tuesday 17th June we are joined by Professor Sam Behjati, Group Leader at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. Sam will speak on: Phylogenies of cancer formation in predisposition individuals
A buffet lunch will be served from 12.30pm in the area outside the CAB lecture theatre and the talk will begin at 1.00pm followed by a Q&A.
Abstract: In this talk I will discuss recent discoveries on how pathogenic germline mutations may generate cancers.
Speaker biography: I am group Leader at the Wellcome Sanger Institute, Clinical Professor of Paediatric Oncology in Cambridge and Honorary Consultant Paediatric Oncologist at CH and Great Ormond Street Hospital. I studied medicine at Oxford and pursued academic clinical training in paediatrics in London and Cambridge. My group focuses on genomic discoveries science with a particular emphasis on human development and childhood cancer. The tools that we are using encompass DNA sequencing single cell omics.
