Early Cancer Institute Race For Life Team

Congratulations to members of the Early Cancer Institute who took part in the Race For Life in Cambridge on Sunday 2nd July 2023, raising over £3,000 for Cancer Research UK.

Race for Life, now in its 30th year, is the UK’s largest charity mass-participation event. Since it began in 1994, more than 10 million people have taken part, raising over £920m to help fund cutting-edge research into more than 200 types of cancer.

The event in Cambridge took place on Jesus Green with 5K and 10K routes. The Race for Life enables people to get together and remember loved ones lost to cancer or celebrate the lives of those who have survived.

The Early Cancer Institute was represented across the board - from group leaders and research nurses, to administrators, lab managers and many of our research group members. The team was also joined by Nitzan Rosenfeld and his group members, all of us uniting to run in memory of Charlie Massie, a group leader at the Institute, who sadly passed away in May after a long illness with cancer.

There was a fantastic atmosphere at the Cambridge event and we are very proud of those who took part or came to support our team.
