The Early Cancer Institute celebrated its first year by hosting a garden party in the Fellows' Bowling Green at Trinity College. Staff and students from the Institute were joined by colleagues and collaborators from our wider network, for drinks, canapes and a slice of birthday cake!
The Institute launched in September 2022 and is the first physical institute in the UK dedicated to early cancer research. Over the past year, the Institute has had a number of achievements, awards and honours. It has seen a range of papers published, collaborative projects launched and the addition of three new group leaders - Siddhartha Kar, Matt Hoare and Tom Mitchell. After a successful recruitment round in May 2023 three junior group leaders will join the Institute in the next year.
The garden party provided an opportunity to say thanks to Institute members for their hard work and dedication, and to our colleagues from across Cambridge for their continued support. The beautiful surroundings at Trinity College provided the perfect place to celebrate our achievements, network and socialise, thanks to all those who came.
