Registration is now open for the virtual conference 'Mind the Gap: Trailblazing Cancer Prevention', taking place on 31 January 2023. Organised by the European Association for Cancer Research (EACR), the programme features a panel of cancer prevention trailblazers sharing their expertise at this exciting virtual event.

Recent decades have seen tremendous progress in our ability to detect, trace and treat cancers, yet incidences are globally on the rise. This underscores a gap in our ability to transform knowledge into prevention measures, which theoretically could reduce incidences by almost half via better management of common risk factors such as hormone exposures and inflammation. Greater emphasis on primary prevention can address both the mounting stress on health systems and rising global health risks.

This Virtual Showcase presents leading paradigms in cancer prevention research, featuring a panel of trailblazers who will share progress on early detection and cancer vaccines, and insights on the links between epidemiology, genetic risk, and personalised cancer management. A panel discussion will dive into current opportunities for and barriers to effective cancer prevention.

Speakers:

Allan Balmain | Cathrin Brisken | Larissa Carnevalli | Cyrille Cohen | Rebecca Fitzgerald | Olivia Fletcher | John Hickman | Amanda McCann | David Mooney | Azra Raza | Emmy Verschuren
