On Wednesday 27th November we welcome Professor Rina Rosin-Arbesfeld from the Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences at Tel Aviv University to speak on 'Can we use antibiotics to treat cancer?'

This event will take place in the Early Cancer Institute, Adrian Way, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge, CB2 0XZ

Speaker biography:

Prof Rina Rosin-Arbesfeld, Vice Dean, Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences, Tel Aviv University gained her MSc and PhD at the Tel Aviv University. During her early career Rina specialized in molecular aspects of retroviruses. Following completion of her postdoctoral studies at the MRC-LMB, Cambridge, with Dr Marianne Bienz, she returned to the Tel-Aviv University. Prof. Arbesfeld’s laboratory has a longstanding interest in the molecular events that lead to the development and progression of Colorectal Cancer (CRC) one of the leading causes of cancer related morbidity and mortality. The research team focus on the Wnt signaling pathway that controls normal development and is involved in many types of malignant transformation especially in CRC development.
