Congratulations to Zeyu Gao (Crispin-Ortuzar Group), Aristi Damaskou (Watson Group) and Leanne Wu (Fitzgerald Group) who have received CRUK funded Early Detection and Diagnosis Primer awards.
These awards support pioneering research ideas and pilot studies to detect and diagnose cancer and precancerous changes as early as possible, enabling earlier intervention and reducing the burden of late-stage disease.
Zeyu Gao will be researching 'Multimodal pathology foundation model for early lesion mapping, quantification, and risk-informed patient management'
Aristi Damaskou will use the award for 'Isolation and profiling of extracellular vesicles in longitudinal blood samples for early detection of acute myeloid leukaemia'
Leanne Wu is exploring 'Genomic biomarker discovery from gastric fluid for non-endoscopic early detection of gastric cancer'.
