Dr Daniel Muñoz-Espín promoted to Research Professor

We are delighted to report that Dr Daniel Muñoz-Espín, Group Leader in the Early Cancer Institute and Co-lead of the CRUK Cambridge Centre Thoracic Cancer Programme, has been promoted to Research Professor at the University of Cambridge. Daniel leads a research group that studies the interface between cellular senescence, plasticity and the fundamental processes and mechanisms that lie at the origin of cancer. The group also develops novel tools and nano-devices for cancer diagnosis and therapy in collaboration with colleagues from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.

Daniel commented “I am thrilled to be promoted to Research Professor at the University of Cambridge. This recognition reflects the dedication and creativity of the outstanding researchers and collaborators I have the privilege to work with. Our goal is to better understand the fundamental processes that drive cancer and to translate these discoveries into new approaches for earlier diagnosis and more effective treatments. I am excited to continue advancing this work alongside colleagues across the Early Cancer Institute and the wider Cambridge research community.”
